Resignation of Arvind Kejriwal Shatters the
Hypocritical Masks of BJP and Congress
Routed from the Anna Hazare movement focusing the
corrupt congress government, the formation of Aam Aadmi Party was politically
structured onto the vow of eliminating corruption. On this basis, with the
overwhelming support of the people who are tired of the corruption on all
levels, AAP had won 28 seats in the assembly elections in Delhi. This electoral
success of the AAP had severely damaged the congress party; similarly it has
also blocked the propaganda sweep of BJP which seeks to capture power by
pointing out the charges of corruption in the sitting congress government. Congress maneuvered its worst ever debacle by extending
support to AAP with the view that it will be better if a non BJP Government is
at the capital of the country at a time when Parliament elections are fast
approaching. The AAP government thus formed at Delhi had implemented most
notable people friendly acts in its 48 days rule which no other government
could think of doing.
They are
·
700
liters of potable drinking water to the Delhiites free of charge.
·
Implemented
50% cut in the Electricity bills for economically downtrodden people
·
Made
many of the contract workers in the Delhi administration permanent.
·
Taught
a fitting lesson to the corrupt Delhi police.
·
Initiated
its legal action against former congress CM Sheila Dixit.
Countering the charges by some of adversaries of the
AAP that it is doing good politics and bad economics by providing subsidy to
the tune of 242 crore rupees on account of free drinking water supply Arvind
Kejriwal boldly asserted his action by questioning the central policy of giving
6000000 crore subsidies to the corporate houses. It is to be remembered here that
even many of communist leaders did not go to the extent of questioning the
granting of subsidies to the monopoly houses.
As another step in the course of its fulfilling its
election promises AAP had decided to table the Jan Lokpal bill. Arvind Kejriwal
had publicly announced that he would resign if the bill is not passed. Immediately
in response to his announcement of conditional resignation BJP retaliated that
they would not simply allow Arvind Kejriwal to run away from his responsibility
on the grounds of non passing of Jan Lokpal. Similarly congress also remained supportive
to AAP Government even after the legal action was initiated against Sheila
Dixit. At that time both the Congress and BJP had no other options than to
support the bill since their voting against the bill would endanger their
political prospects by exposing them before the people as forces not against
corruption.
In this situation the case filed by AAP government
against
·
Mukesh
Ambani (Reliance) for misusing the license issued for extraction of natural gas
to earn illegal profit.
·
Petroleum
minister Veerappa Moily
·
Corporate
affairs minister Murli Deora for aiding Reliance to indulge in such illegal
act.
And AAP was about to take up the case of Adani group
who is the financier for the political campaign of Narendra Modi. This had unmasked
the hypocrisy of both the Congress and the BJP.
Congress which was extending support even after the AAP
Government filed FIR against its former chief minister could not do so after
the filing of a case against Mukesh Ambani. And BJP which was harping on its
pet slogan that it would not allow the AAP to run away from responsibility made
U turn without being able to bear the frown in the face of Reliance.
It is not because that they saw something unusual in
the bill they decided to put an end to the rule of AAP but because of the will
and pleasure of their pay masters viz. Ambanis Adanis they decided to do so. Thus
AAP has successfully exposed the nexus between the corporate houses and the
political parties like Congress and BJP and thereby made it crystal clear that
our nation is ruled not by political parties but by the Indian monopoly houses.
It is high time for one and all of us to lend a helping and supporting hand to
AAP which is on the correct course in its fight against corruption not
excluding the corporate corruption which is eating into the vitals of our
democracy.
